8 people missing after Swiss landslide

A massive landslide has forced Swiss authorities to evacuate the entire village of Bondo, in the eastern canton of Graubuenden.

Several buildings were “destroyed but no-one is reported to have been hurt”:, largely thanks to an automatic alarm system set up in 2012 after another huge landslide in the same region.

Between 2-3 million cubic meters of rocks were brutally detached from Cengalo Peak which measures more than 3300 meters.

The collapse of the mountain had been under surveillance for several weeks.
