Polish entrepreneurs Monika Zochowska and Ewa Dudzic are doing their part to revolutionise the cosmetic industry and women’s beauty habits with their original product GLOV. But their journey through research and development started in their own bathrooms. The business partners — who founded the Phenicoptere company — sought solutions to their personal challenges associated with traditional makeup removal and in turn developed GLOV. The mitten-like skincare accessory can be used to conveniently, naturally and effectively remove makeup and cleanse skin when doused in water. Zochowska and Dudzic were aware of the risks associated with embarking on the novel project, but a strong business partnership and confidence in Poland’s robust startup ecosystem helped them take a leap of faith. “It’s very dynamic. The startup industry is big and there is always someone you can learn from,” says Dudzic. GLOV and its related product line are produced in Poland. The company’s founders have so far conquered global markets to the tune of over 50 countries, and hope their invention will one day touch the lives of every woman on the planet.
