Brazilian midfielder says it's a "dream come true" after his transfer to the Catalan giants

Barcelona's new star football Philippe Coutinho made a brief appearance before some of Spain's press on Sunday ahead of his official presentation to the club and fans later today (Jan 8)

The Brazilian midfielder was sold by Liverpool at the weekend for 160 million euros making him one of the most expensive players in football history.

"It's incredible to know I am going to be with my idols, with players that have a lot of history like Leo Messi, Luis Suarez , Iniesta, Pique and Busquets, all those great players and I'm very happy to know I will play with them. I hope to learn alot "

Manager Ernesto Valverde is certain of the quality of his newest player.

"I think he will bring us a lot. He is a player that has a very good relationship with the goal, but also knows how to give assistance In terms of the construction of the team, I think he will bring a lot of innovative options."

It's thought Coutinho, who will sign a five year contract is being brought in to help rejuvenate Barcelona's aging midfield, although on Sunday the whole team looked on top form clinching a 3-0 win against Levante.
