For most of the year "Beauty and the Beast" has bossed the US box office, and it ends 2017 as the 10th biggest grossing movie of all time worldwide, but a bumper final weekend has seen it overhauled for the domestic honours by...

No prizes for having guessed, "The Last Jedi", which has has romped to 517 million dollars, whereas "Beauty and the Beast" just broke the half-billion mark in US sales, but has racked up north of 1.2 billion worldwide.

Both films are Walt Disney properties, so the studio wins every which way. "The Last Jedi" has also broken the billion dollar mark in worldwide sales, with China yet to come.
