British actress Gemma Arterton opened up to us about her new film ‘The Escape’, which had its French premiere at the European Film Festival of Les Arcs.
The story of a young stay-at-home mum in soulless suburban England who is slowly consumed by depression, ‘The Escape’ is a low-budget indie movie by Dominic Savage that relies heavily on improvisation – an exercise Arterton says she greatly enjoyed. Parts of it were shot in her hometown, which helped her make the character her own and deliver a very intimate performance.
