The demolition of Georgia Dome was a spectacular sight but not everyone managed to capture it on video.

This is the moment a US sports stadium was blown up after just 25 years.

The Georgia Dome, which was the world’s largest covered stadium when it open in 1992, was demolished on Monday.

It comes after the facility was rendered obsolete after American football team Atlanta Falcons built a new home nearby.

Nearly 2,268 kilograms of explosives were on hand to blast the stadium to smithereens in just 15 seconds.

While the footage above shows the moment the structure came crashing down, not everyone managed to catch the demolition on camera.

The Weather Channel had positioned itself in front of the stadium, but a bus drew up at the crucial moment:
