The Jamaican sprinter Nesta Carter who was retroactively found guilty of doping at the 2008 Beijing Olympics has attended his appeal hearing.

It will now be a tense wait as The Court of Arbitration of Sport deliberates, with a decision expected in the new year.

Carter tested positive for the banned stimulant methylhexaneamine in 2008

The general secretary of the Court of Arbitration of Sport, Matthieu Reeb spoke to reporters outside the court,

“If he’s disqualified it means also the Jamaican relay would be disqualified and the entire team would lose their first place and the medals.”

News which will feel all the more hard for his gold-winning teammates, Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell, and Michael Frater.
