MILAN (Reuters) – Italy’s market watchdog Consob is expected to approve the prospectus for the re-listing of Monte dei Paschi’s shares in the second half of next week, a source familiar with the matter said on Friday, a few days later than expected. Shares in Monte dei Paschi <BMPS.MI> were expected to resume trading after a 10-month suspension at the beginning of next week, but the source said that it was now more likely to happen the following week. Monte dei Paschi’s shares have not traded in Milan since December 2016, when the bank failed to raise capital from investors and had to seek help from the state ahead of an 8 billion euro (£7.1 billion) rescue.
