The result of most wedding photoshoots is a set of smiling photos, but one Canadian couple ended up with images to remember.

Releasing his bride from their loving embrace, the groom dived into a pond in Kitchener, Ontario, to save a little boy from drowning and the wedding photographer snapped the whole thing.

Clayton and Brittany Cook’s wedding photographer, Darren Hatt, describes he saw one of his subjects jumping into the water:

“It was a commendable thing that he did. He sprang into action incredibly quick. Almost as soon as I realised what was going on, he already saved the day.”

After Clayton saved the little boy from the pond, the child didn’t say a word, with two other children admitting to pushing him in.

“How different everyone’s day would have been if we weren’t at the right place at the right time,” Brittany mused, as the couple looked at the photos of the shoot-come-rescue attempt.
