German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Friday (August 11) that she believes there is is no military solution to the United States’ dispute with North Korea.

“I don’t see a military solution to this conflict,” she said in Berlin.

The chancellor added that she thought that the war of words between the two leaders was the wrong approach.

“I see the need for enduring work at the U.N. Security Council … and above all tight cooperation with the countries involved, especially the U.S. and China.”
