President Donald Trump’s eldest son told an associate with Russian links he would “love” to hear damaging information on Hillary Clinton during the campaign.

Donald Trump Jr. tweeted a chain of emails from June 2016 in which he tells publicist Rob Goldstone: “If it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer.”

Goldstone had minutes earlier told Trump Jr. he was writing on behalf of Russian pop star Emin Agalarov and his father, Aras Agalarov, a property tycoon.

It read: “The Crown prosecutor of Russia met with his father Aras this morning and in their meeting offered to provide the Trump campaign with some of the official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father.”

This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and it’s government’s support for Mr Trump.

Trump Jr. said he released the emails “in order to be totally transparent”.
