German fashion designer wins top award

The white haired, black clad German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has been awarded the Grand Vermail, the French capital’s highest honour.

The 83-year-old was handed the award by Anne Hidalgo, mayor of Paris, after the Chanel new autum-winter collection at the Grand Palais at the foot of a scaled down, re-modeled Eiffel Tower named #ChanelTower.

As for the show Lagerfeld stayed true to Cocco Chanel’s classic cuts, dress coats and theatrical sleeves.
