The great and the good arrived at the outdoor catwalk in Paris for the 70th anniversary celebration of Dior and the global influence on Dior couture.
One of those paying homage is Canadian singer Celine Dion:
“I love fashion for my whole life I have been liking fashion. It’s part of what I do, I am a singer so I need fashion to perform and to perform well I need fashion. So let’s see what they have to propose today.”

Maria Grazia Chiuri, the first female creative director ,took her inspiration from a map found in the fashion house’s archives.

The garments go hand in hand with an exhibition at the decorative arts museum to honour one of France’s iconic and innovative creative talents Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams.
Maria Grazia Chiuri went back to look forward: “I decided to work and to do an homage to Mr Dior. And so I decided to look at all the jobs Dior did in his first ten years because in any case he gave the DNA of the brand.”

The show exhibits the work of Dior and then incorporates the designs of his successors: Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons and now Maria Grazia Chiuri; The exhibition runs until January at Paris’s Decorative Arts Museum.
