Germany will meet Chile in Sunday’s Confederations Cup final after the Mannshaft crushed Mexico 4 to 1 in the semis on Thursday (June 29).
All three German scorers in the southern Russian resort of Sochi were players making their tournament debuts.
Leon Goretzka scored twice in the first eight minutes, before Timo Werner and Amin Younis added two more in the second half.

Mexico had more possession and more chances, and Marco Fabian’s swerving 89th-minute goal was quite spectacular, but the team’s defensive frailties were ruthlessly exploited by Joachim Loew’s young experimental team.
Mexico now heads to Moscow to play Portugal in the third-place match.
