A string of music stars have come together to record a cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge over Troubled Water to help victims of the Grenfell tower fire.

Nile Rodgers, Jesse J, Robbie Williams and Stormzy were among those lending their voices and talents.

“It’s heavy, I think everyone in here feels the same way. It’s a heavy time and the only thing that can make change is to not be afraid and to come together and to, just, love deeper,” said singer Jesse J.

Music producer and organiser Simon Cowell ploughed through his contact book to help bring the artists together.

After hearing the single for the first time, he said: “Honestly, unbelievable. I’m in chills, it sounds beautiful, absolutely beautiful. I’m literally speechless.”
