Rod Stewart rocks the Isle of Wight Festival

Many were young enough to be his grandchildren, yet they were in the palm of his hand.

At 72, veteran rocker Rod Stewart went down a storm on the closing night of the iconic Isle of Wight Festival on Sunday.

French DJ David Guetta helped kick off the three days of live music performance. He has just released the video of his new song ‘2U’ – a collaboration with Canadian pop superstar Justin Bieber.

Revellers rocked with British indie pop band Bastille. They are touring Europe this summer.

And for those who remember the Spice Girls… Melanie C made her mark. If you missed her on the Isle of Wight, the 43-year-old also has plenty of European dates coming up.

Safety was paramount in the wake of the Manchester and London terror attacks. But tightened security didn’t stop festival-goers having a ball.
