Manchester United have booked their place in the Europa League semi-finals after beating Anderlecht at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford scored the winner for the home side in the second period of extra-time after the teams were level at one-all after 90 minutes.

United went ahead after just 10 minutes through Henrikh Mkhitaryan but Sofiane Hanni brought the Belgian visitors level after 32 minutes.

Elsewhere it took a thrilling penalty shootout to split Besiktas and Lyon in Istanbul, but it was Lyon who eventually went through.

The teams had three goals apiece after the two legs, with both teams winning 2-1 in their home fixtures.

The French side finally defeated their Turkish opponents 7-6 after penalty kicks.

Spanish side Celta Vigo’s 1-1 draw away to Belgian team Genk was enough to put them through to the final four, winning 4-3 on aggregate.

And Dutch team Ajax beat Germany’s Schalke 4-3 over the two legs to book their place in the semi finals.
