Borussia Dortmund may be forgiven for losing their Champions League quarter-final first leg against Monaco after a bomb attack on the team bus 24 hours earlier.

They were beaten, but it was gripping, Monaco took a 2-0 lead thanks to Teenager Kylian Mbappe’s opener followed by an own goal by Sven Bender.

Dembele got one back for the home side, only to see Mbappe score again for Monaco.

Former Man United player Shinji Kagawa scored an excellent second for the home side.

Still Monaco take three away goals home.

For a second leg with still plenty to play for.

Borussia Dortmund 2-3 Monaco.

Bayern Munich met Real Madrid in Munich in a big hitter.

It took 25 Minutes to break the deadlock thanks to an Arturo Vidal power header.

On the stroke of half time Vidal then smashed a penalty over the bar.

The Ronaldo show returned to equalise at just after the re-start.

After Javi Martinez saw red for Bayern.

Ronaldo became a record breaker scoring his 100th goal, in European club competitions.

Nauer fluffed in the goal.

Bayern Munich 1-2 Real Madrid.

Leicester City took on the other Madrid side Atletico in the Spanish capital and may live to rue a decision by referee Jonas Eriksson.

Antoine Griezmann was brought down by Albrighton, clearly outside the box, Griezmann scored.

As the clock ticked down Leicester defended in numbers with keeper Schmeichel untroubled.

The English champions happy with the result, furious with the decision.
