The “spirit of the square”, Jose Antonio, was given a free makeover by a hair salon in Majorca.

During the extensive makeover, the salon cut Jose’s hair, trimmed his beard, and dyed them both.

When all was revealed, Jose was left in tears from his transformation.

“This is incredible, is this me?” Antonio said. “I’m so different, no-one’s going to recognise me unless I tell them who I am.”

He said he felt so shocked by his new look, he thought he was hallucinating.

“I assure you, the whole neighborhood will not recognise me,” Antonio said. “This has changed me totally! It’s not me.”

According to the Daily Mail, Antonio, 55, has been homeless for 25 years. A former electrician, he is well known by the locals.

The video of his transformation was to celebrate the three-year anniversary of the hair salon. Since its publication, the video has gone viral.

Watch the video to see how locals reacted to Jose’s new look.
