Austria held off the stiff competition of Germany and Poland to win a World Cup ski jumping team event on Saturday in Oslo, Norway.

Stefan Kraft, who has won four individual events this season and is second in the overall standings, was the last man of his team to jump and produced a fine effort of 134.5 metres to help seal the win.

Michael Hayboeck, Manuel Fettner and Markus Schiffner made up Austria’s winning quartet.

Germany, winners of January’s team event in Zakopane, had to settle for the runner’s up spot.

The team of Markus Eisenbichler, Stephan Leyhe, Richard Freitag and Andreas Wellinger were 12.5 points behind Austria.

Poland have won two team events this season but came up short in Oslo to round out the podium in third.

Norway were fourth while Japan completed the top five.
