Time to pack away the selfie sticks as Mobile World Congress, the annual technology and telecoms trade show, wrapped up in Barcelona.

It was time to pack away the selfie sticks on Thursday as Mobile World Congress, the annual technology and telecoms trade show, drew to a close in Barcelona.

The organisers were able to brag about big numbers as attendance was up seven percent this year. There were a record 108,000 visitors from over 200 countries visiting the more than 2,300 companies that set out their stands.

Emphasising the fact that mobile is much more than just phones these days, touching all of our lives in many different ways, there were exhibitors from a wide variety of fields, including automotive, finance and healthcare.

There were no big headline grabbing announcements but plenty of trends to ponder at one of the world’s biggest and most popular technology events.
