Wales breach stout Italian defence in the Six Nations

The Italians in Rome defended their citadel against a stuttering band of Celts as Wales, eventually, got their Six Nations off to a winning start.

When prop Andrea Lovotti was sin binned the Welsh went over the line twice thanks to Jonathan Davies and Liam Williams with Italy a man down and unable to cope.

And that marked the end of Italy’s stout defence.

Italy 7-33 Wales.

Italy: 7
Try: Gori Con: Canna
Wales 33
Tries: J Davies, L Williams, North Cons: Halfpenny 3 Pens: Halfpenny 4.

The Welsh top the Six Nations after the opening exchanges.

Wales meet England next, France take on Scotland, Italy play Ireland.
