A special Christmas
EMEL (Lisbon’s Municipal Company of Parking and Mobility) is conducting a guerilla marketing action to reward Portuguese drivers. That is, the exemplary ones. Inspired by the common myth that the well-behaved children get the Christmas presents, the company is awarding a special gift to drivers that never failed to pay their parking tolls throughout 2016. All around the capital city, residents are getting surprised when approaching their vehicles only to find out they have been laced up with a special message and a voucher of 10€ for parking tolls paid through EMEL’s ePark APP. The campaign will last until the 23rd of December, but a special event to reward 10.000 other drivers is announced for the 24th. For the first time in many years, EMEL’s agents are being looked upon with fondness and hope, as this campaign proves the company is not trying to punish people with their tolls, but helping to build an orderly city and driving routines. The campaign was created and implemented by uppOut and makes use of the #Bem_Estacionados #Bem_Recompensados hashtags, which translate to #Well_Parked #Well_Rewarded Portuguese drivers who want to know if they’re eligible to be rewarded should follow the website bemestacionados.pt and find out if their Christmas is getting a little bit more special. Instagram users can follow the regular updates at @bem_estacionados and if you’re driving around the capital city of Portugal, you might just be on the brink of an unexpected surprise.
