Half-a-dozen hot-air balloons took to the skies over the Southern Egyptian city of Luxor on Thursday (December 15).
Event organisers and Luxor residents said they hoped the festival can help revive the country’s flagging tourism industry after five difficult post-revolution years.
The event brought competitors from Germany, the UK, Japan, Sweden, Norway, South Africa, France and Holland to Egypt.
