Domen Prevc produced a stunning performance to secure his first World Cup victory in Finland on Friday.

The 17-year-old made his intent clear with an impressive first jump of 138.5 metres and followed it up with his second of 140.5 for a total score of 321.8 points enough to beat reigning champion Severin Freund.

The German leapt 140 metres before clearing the same distance on his second attempt to end the day with a total of 318.3 points.

Domen’s brother Peter looked set to take top spot after jumping 143 metres but it wasn’t to be as the Slovenian sensation lost his balance as he was landing, en route to a frustrating third place finish.

Austria’s Manuel Fettner and Maciej Kot of Poland finished fourth and fifth respectively.
