It has been announced that the music star Sting will perform a concert for the reopening of the Bataclan venue, where dozens of people died in the Paris terrorist attacks.

The proceeds will go to the associations set up for the victims.

Jerome Langlet, the Bataclan Director, told reporters: “Thanks to Sting for being there to show that we have faced this, that we got up again, that we progressed and that the Bataclan will live again. Thanks to him for allowing us to make some noise.”

65-year-old Sting is quoted as saying:“We hope to respect the memory as well as the life affirming spirit of those who fell. We shall not forget them.”

A total of 130 people were killed in the Paris terrorist attacks, with 90 of the victims inside the Bataclan.
