Every year more and more people gather to watch football being played in the river at the town dubbed the Venice of the Cotswolds.

Two six-a-side teams of players from Bourton Rovers Football Club have to kick the ball between the village’s two main bridges and score by getting it past temporary goalposts. Organisers say the tradition dates back 100 years but the number of spectators gathering on the grassy banks to cheer on the teams has grown in recent times.
