A man has been arrested after security forces launched an anti-terror operation in a Paris suburb, swooping on two private residences.

The raids, which took place in Argenteuil, are not connected to the Nice truck attack, according to reports.

The authorities moved in after apparently receiving a tip-off about what is being described as a “violent action plan.”

The operation comes as France prepares to extend its current state of emergency for another six months.

There have been three major attacks in the country in 18 months and officials says they’ve foiled other plots threatening public security.
