It was party time on the Dolce and Gabbana catwalk in Milan. The designers said the bold, art deco themed show was inspired by the music they love – jazz, swing, mambo and more. Monochrome dominated, with flashes of gold, animal prints and even musical instrument motifs.

A Dsquared2, Canadian designing twins Dean and Caten fused London street wear with androgyny for their striking show. The models donned braces, pork pie hats and high platform boots that they negotiated beautifully.

Donatella Versace paid sweet tribute to Prince with a collection featuring tight suits, ruffled shirts and silk knitwear worn under long, trailing overcoats

Versace, who was a friend of the late performer, also included some unreleased Prince remixes and original music in the soundtrack to her show.

The focus at Prada was on active wear – a spirit of self reliance and, of course, adventure….
