England fans across France reacted with joy as their team came from behind to beat Wales and clinch their first victory at Euro 2016.

There were ecstatic scenes in the fanzone in the centre of Lyon as the final whistle blew more than 500 kilometres away in the northern French city of Lens.

“Fantastic. It wasn’t the best performance but we finished it in the end 2-1, top of the table, can’t ask for anything more, fantastic,” one fan told Euronews

“It was incredible, that last minute goal, the fan park erupted, it was absolutely incredible, it is the best feeling in my life, it was insane. Absolutely incredible,” said another.

Thousands of England fans have made the trip to France for the championship.

Major cities have set up fan zones in the centre for supporters to watch their team in action if they cannot get to the match in person.
