Turkish and Croatian football fans came face-to-face in Paris’ designated fan zone as their teams yesterday (June 12) went up against each other in the first round of UEFA Euro 2016.

Their initial encounter appeared tense and looked like it would mirror many of the football-related clashes from over the weekend, but then took a more friendly turn.

Two fans, draped in their countries’ colours, shook hands and embraced each other, with others following suit.
