Britain’s Lewis Hamilton won the Canadian Grand prix for the fifth time on Sunday slashing Mercedes team mate Nico Rosberg’s championship lead to nine points.

Hamilton who won from pole position took the chequered flag five seconds ahead of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, while Rosberg finished back in fifth place. Finland’s Valtteri Bottas came in third for Williams.

Rosberg now has 116 points to Hamilton’s 107 after seven of 21 races.
