Watch out, chickens! Big farmer is watching you!
But it is for a good cause – to increase your wellbeing.
Researchers have set up cameras, sensors and microphones at a dozen experimental smart farms all over Europe.
Cameras detect abnormal behaviour in animals, sending alarms to the farmers.
Microphones are even able to identify coughs in pigs, that could develop into highly infectious respiratory diseases.
Researchers hope this technology will increase animal comfort as well as farm productivity.
There are around 12 million full-time farmers in the European Union.
So the market for these smart farm devices is huge, researchers say.
