Extradited Paris attack suspect Salah Abdeslam appears before French judges

Paris attack suspect Salah Abdeslam has appeared before judges in the French capital after being extradited from Belgium earlier today.


Jean-Jacques Urvoas is the French Justice Minister:“He will be escorted by a specific surveillance team. The team is made up of highly-trained guards expert in the incarceration of dangerous prisoners. Special measures are already in place for his detention.”
Abdeslam’s French lawyer Frank Berton said he took the case, despite the risks, because the 26-year-old “deserves a fair trial.”
Abdeslam is the only surviving member of the gang that slaughtered 130 people in Paris on November 30.
Three teams made up of three individuals each carried out the Paris murders seven died at the scene, two others were killed five days later in a police raid.
