The Italian President arrived at the tomb of the unknown soldier in Rome today, to lay a wreath on the country’s 71st Liberation Day.
Allied troops finally liberated the country on April 25th 1945.
It is also the date when Italians honour their fallen soldiers, including the partisans of the Italian Resistance.
