AC Milan announced on Tuesday they have sacked head coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.

The decision from the club’s board comes following a poor run of results.

The seven times European champions are currently down in sixth place in the Serie A and in serious danger of missing out on the champions League for a third successive season.

Mihajlovic’s last game in charge was a 2-1 defeat at home to league leaders Juventus – a result that extended the club’s winless run to five games.

Youth team coach Cristian Brocchi, a former Milan and Lazio defender, will take charge for the remaining six games of the season.
