Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan inaugurated Besiktas’ brand new waterfront stadium on Sunday.
The formal opening did not take place inside the new 42,000-seat arena but beneath one of the stands in front of selected VIPs.
Besiktas, who are currently top of the Süper Lig, 3 points ahead of arch rivals Fenerbahçe, are due to play their first match at their new home ground against Bursaspor on April 11.
