She was tending to the mainsail in high winds and fell into the Pacific Ocean.

The vessel took one hour to retrieve her and by which time she was dead.

She is the second member of the IchorCoal crew to die in the event; Andrew Ashman died in September after being knocked out while racing off the coast of Portugal.

Captain Darren Ladd said she was tiding the cockpit after reefing the mainsail when she knocked out of position by a wave.

Organisers want to know why Sarah was not tethered to the boat.
