Zenit confident, PSG ready for Chelsea in the Champions League

Former Spurs and Chelsea boss André Villas-Boas believes his sides performance in Lisbon will stand them in good stead for the last 16 Champions League 2nd leg in St Petersburg.

Zenit lost in Lisbon 1-0.

“All the players are available. Benfica have problems, some suspensions and injuries and both teams will have to make some adjustments,” he said.

Benfica will field a makeshift rearguard in St Petersburg.

The Portuguese side are missing three central defenders plus goalkeeper Julio Cesar for the second leg at the Petrovskiy Stadium.

The Eagles of Lisbon will be feeling very content after beating arch-rivals Sporting in the big Lisbon derby to go top of the Portuguese league over the weekend.

Chelsea are a side transformed since Guus Hiddink took over from Jose Mourinho.

John Terry is out of the PSG game, but Diego Costa trained after missing the Stoke match at the weekend.

Hiddink says Costa will play along with the Spaniard Pedro.

Chelsea go into the second leg trying to overturn a 2-1 deficit from the opening match in Paris.

PSG will be relishing another attempt to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

PSG are runaway leaders in France and have the luxury of resting players.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, David Luiz and Thiago Silva are all set to return for PSG. All three were left out of Blanc’s starting line-up in Ligue 1 at the weekend.
