A Nigerian man has been killed in India after an argument over who is the better footballer: Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.

Obina Durumchukwu, 34, was stabbed with broken glass by fellow NIgerian Michael Chukwuma, 21, in Nalasopara near Mumbai in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Local police inspector Kiran Kabadi said on Monday that the two men “were discussing football players. One is a fan of Messi and the other was for Ronaldo. During the conversation a quarrel took place. The deceased threw a glass into the face of the accused. The glass broke and caused small injuries. After that the accused took the broken glass and assaulted the deceased, who died due to heavy bleeding.”
