The fifth of seven events this season on the World Surf League Big Wave Tour took place on the Baja peninsula in Mexico.
Australian Josh Kerr survived a day of huge waves and a stiff challenge from American Greg Long to claim top spot.
With the result Kerr moved up to fifth in the general standings while Long surfed his way into the overall lead heading into round six in Oregon in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States.
