One of the giants of French stage and screen, Michel Galabru, has died after a 70-year career aged 93. The actor died peacefully at home in his sleep after making cinema audiences roar with laughter for years as one of the incompetent Gendarmes de St Tropez and many other films. He was also active in theatre, performing almost until the end.
