Dani Koleva, Policy Director, National Network for Children Bulgaria:

“As a policy director of NNC, my role is to support our members when it comes to find what are the challenges they are fighting in their day to day jobs, what are the common solutions and how we can then find ways to improve this and working together with the municipalities and government.

“We believe that what should be done when it comes to child poverty is first to agree that it’s a priority. Because it affects child development. It actually stop children to achieve their full potential. It affect health, it affects their education, and we all as a society, and not only Bulgaria but the whole Europe, pays a high cost for that. And talking about economics we shouldn’t focus only on the mechanics, we shouldn’t focus on the workforce, we should talk about the social and human capital, we should start with children.”
