UK police are treating a stabbing at a London underground station as a terrorist incident.

Three people were injured one seriously after a man wielding a knife attacked them. Witnesses claim the assailant shouted at the time “this is for Syria”.

Police were called to Leytonstone tube station which lies 10 km east of central London, at around 7pm. A man was arrested after being Tasered (stun gun) by officers.

Britain is on its second-highest alert level, meaning a militant attack is considered highly likely mainly due to the threat posed by Islamist militants who are encouraging supporters to attack the West.
Last week MPs gave the go ahead to air strikes on ISIL targets in Syria. Since then the country’s air force has launched two bombing raids,
