Italy’s Alice Volpi produced a stunning performance to down Inna Deriglazova in the final of the Turin Grand Prix on Saturday.

The Russian, who clinched her first individual World title in the foil discipline in July, beat French sensation Ysaora Thibus in the quarter finals and Arianna Errigo in the semis before failing to deliver in the showpiece match.

Volpi proved too strong for Deriglazova throughout the contest and eventually prevailed 15-4 on home soil.
