Bolivia’s capital La Paz have been hit by prison protests as inmates expressed their anger over alleged cuts in daily food allowances.

There are around 13,000 inmates in Bolivia’s prisons and nearly 90 percent of them are awaiting trial, trapped by the Andean country’s notoriously slow justice system, report Reuters.
