US drone strike targets ISIL executioner known as 'Jihadi John'

The US has carried out a drone strike against the ISIL executioner
known as ‘Jihadi John.’

The Pentagon is ‘reasonably certain’ Mohammed Emwazi, a Kuwaiti born British militant, was killed in the attack.

US Secretary of State John Kerry had this to say: “The terrorists associated with Daesh(ISIL) need to know this: your days are numbered and you will be defeated. There is no future, no path forward for Daesh which does not lead ultimately to its destruction.”

British Prime Minster David Cameron said Britain and the US have been working together to track down the killer :
“Emwazi is a barbaric murderer. He was shown in those sickening videos of the beheading of British aid workers. He posed an ongoing and serious threat to innocent civilians, not only in Syria, but around the world and in the United Kingdom too. So this was an act of self-defence. It was the right thing to do.”

Emwazi was filmed killing British aid workers David Haines and Alan Henning, US journalists Steven Sotloff and James Foley, American aid worker Peter Kassig, Japanaese journalist Kenji Goto and Japanese businessman Haruna Yukawa.

Didier François, a French journalist held hostage by ISIL for 10 months, claims that Emwazi was not only a cruel guard, torturer and killer he was key to recruiting foreign jihadists to the ISIL cause.
