The big clean up of Paris streets is set to begin. The four-day strike by municipal refuse collectors has ended.

The walk-out was by members of the Confederation Generale Du Travail – the CGT union – over pay and career progression.

Ten of the 20 districts of the French capital were affected. The strikers say all their demands were met after a day of negotiations.
