Golden September (Coniacc) was invited by Coniacc (National Confederation of Institutions of Support and Assistance to Children and Adolescents with Cancer) to create the campaign for Golden September. The movement is an initiative by Coniacc and it happens throughout the month all over Brazil aiming to alert parents about the importance of early diagnosis in childhood cancer.The campaign consists of an animated film lasting two minutes. The opening scenes show a boy who loses the last strand of hair during treatment. Through effects that recall the passage of time, the strand flies over the city until it finds its owner. It lands on the head of the same boy who faced the disease during childhood, but, now, appears as a healthy young man.“The goal is to alert parents of the fact that childhood cancer has a good chance of cure, as long as the disease is diagnosed at the beginning,” said Guilherme Jahara, CCO (chief creative officer) of The film also encourages adults to visit the movement’s website ( and learn more about the symptoms that should motivate preventive examinations. The campaign also includes posters, ads for newspapers and posts on Facebook.
