At least 6 dead in attack on police in India-Pakistan border town

At least six people have been killed and several wounded in an attack on a police station on the Indian side of the border with Pakistan.

Police were holed up inside the building for over eight hours after heavily armed gunmen stormed the building in the northern state of Punjab.

Border security has since been stepped up.
